Romney: 'I don't support the Alabama law' effectively banning abortion
CNN ^ | May 19, 2019 | Eli Watkins, CNN

Washington (CNN)Utah GOP Sen. Mitt Romney said Sunday he does not support the recently passed Alabama law that would ban abortions with few exceptions, going further than legislation in any other state.

"I don't support the Alabama law," Romney told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor who was the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, said that while he is against abortion, he favors exceptions "for rape and incest and where the life of the mother is at risk."

Romney joins other prominent Republicans outside of Alabama in saying that the law goes too far. In a tweet Saturday night, President Donald Trump said he supported the same exceptions that Romney called for on Sunday, and Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, who is also Romney's niece, also said she personally felt there should be exceptions in the law for rape and incest.

Romney on Sunday told CNN that there were "extreme" laws on both sides of the abortion debate and pointed to New York and Virginia, which have debated expanding abortion rights. The New York law passed in January said abortions could be performed after 24 weeks if the fetus is not viable or when necessary to protect the life of the mother. A Virginia bill that included loosening restrictions around abortion in the third trimester was tabled earlier this year as Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam faced backlash for comments regarding the measure.

Who needs reminding about goof-ball Romney?

We need to be reminded of what the hell we on the right are trying to do and where the hell we’re trying to go.

How relevant are the following words from Revelation 3:15-16?
"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth."

The cost of a bus ticket from Montgomery AL to the center of infanticide Richmond VA is $141.00. If an Alabama woman can afford an abortion they can afford a bus ticket.

not only is Romney a RINO, he’s a LDSINO ...
This is from the www.lds.org church website...

quote...

Human life is a sacred gift from God. Elective abortion for personal or social convenience is contrary to the will and the commandments of God. Church members who submit to, perform, encourage, pay for, or arrange for such abortions may lose their membership in the Church.

In today’s society, abortion has become a common practice, defended by deceptive arguments. Latter-day prophets have denounced abortion, referring to the Lord’s declaration, “Thou shalt not … kill, nor do anything like unto it” (D&C 59:6). Their counsel on the matter is clear: Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must not submit to, perform, encourage, pay for, or arrange for an abortion. Church members who encourage an abortion in any way may be subject to Church discipline.

Church leaders have said that some exceptional circumstances may justify an abortion, such as when pregnancy is the result of incest or rape, when the life or health of the mother is judged by competent medical authority to be in serious jeopardy, or when the fetus is known by competent medical authority to have severe defects that will not allow the baby to survive beyond birth. But even these circumstances do not automatically justify an abortion. Those who face such circumstances should consider abortion only after consulting with their local Church leaders and receiving a confirmation through earnest prayer.

When a child is conceived out of wedlock, the best option is for the mother and father of the child to marry and work toward establishing an eternal family relationship. If a successful marriage is unlikely, they should place the child for adoption, preferably through LDS Family Services.

No he’s not. He needs to follow Harry Reid into an ignominious retirement. And for the same reason.

Mitt “Severely Conservative” Romney is a good example of the acceptable type Republican to Democrats and/or the big news outlets - the failure theater squish surrender wing, who will dependably roll over and apologize profusely for something he didn’t do. A straw man as it were. This, we are told, have long been admonished is necessary to placate “independent voters”.

Combination Designated Loser slash Piñata Candidate, it of course does absolutely no good, they will still call him a Nazi, or Worse Than Hitler(tm). Showing weakness and folding only emboldens them.

In the off chance that he would have actually won in 2012 despite his best efforts, he could have been relied upon to advance the leftist narrative, the multi-act production of the Aristocrats, albeit at a (slightly) slower pace. In that sense they don’t care who wins, because there never was a real choice. Total scam on the American public and has been going on for decades. “Here - pick one!” And the choices are Bush/Clinton yet again, like Rocky 3. Anyone paying attention has seen this movie before many times.

Like him or not, This Is Why You Got Trump.

Donny Two-Scoops don’t play that shit. Romney dislikes him for the unpardonable sin of a politician of actually following through on his campaign promises. I instinctively knew the Republicans would try to poison the well, simply because Mr. Trump would expose them for worthless SOBs they are.

Romney in a 1994 debate with Fat Teddy Kennedy:

MITT ROMNEY: “I believe that abortion should be safe and legal in this country. I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years, that we should sustain and support it. And I sustain and support that law and the right of a woman to make that choice.“
EDWARD KENNEDY: On the question of the choice issue: I have supported the Roe v. Wade. I am pro-choice. My opponent is multiple choice.

Got to give Teddy credit for that zinger.
