GUATEMALA CITY - Guatemala's constitutional court has ruled the daughter of late dictator Efrain Rios Montt cannot run for president in next month's elections.
Judges ruled by four to three Monday that Zury Rios could not participate in the June 16 vote, despite her currently being placed second in polls.
The court's ruling reversed a previous judgment by the Supreme Court, which it has precedence over in matters concerning the constitution.
Rios said in an interview with CNN the decision was a "political" and not a legal ruling which violates her "human rights", noting she had been allowed to run in the 2015 presidential elections.

French Courts have been trying for decades to hang Gen. Efrain Rios Montt, for crimes of Genocide. I travel up and down, all around Guatemala, and know the terrain, the people. People LOVE Rios Montt. But leftist bureaucrats hated Rios Montt for his independent manner. He sought approval more from Israel, than from France.
You have nothing but idiotic remarks, there.
Her husband, Jerry Weller, is a major RINO. She has dual citizenship, with the US citizenship being primary (last).
Her citizenship problem alone should keep her from running.
What are you smoking, Mr. Rove?
I stand corrected on her citizenship. Her child holds dual U.S. and Guatemalan nationality, but seemingly she hasnt gotten it.
