Garamendi has an IQ of about 83. In this case, however, his warning about all things Chinese are valid.

Do they finally see the error when the government subsidizes anything?

Probably not.

The Chinese don’t need to wipe-out the US Rail system.

The US government market-fixing, the ICC and unions already did it.

“Wipe out”??

How?

Nuke them from Orbit?

EMT burst?

Oh, undercut pricing from US manufacturers who have a very, very limited US market, EEOC, OSHA, EPA, LGBTQRSTUV regulations, etc.

The Chinese built our rail system - give credit where credit is due. With drones and autonomous driving, rail’s days are probably numbered.

That would, of course, imply World War III, will anyone be around to ride the rails?

The Chinese state-owned corporation is also the world’s top passenger train maker, has very heavy subsidies to do competitive pricing,

Years ago my company had a railway division in Pennsylvania that was eventually closed down since we could no longer compete with the Canadian subsidized Bombardier........

If it’s that easy for the Chinese to take over our railroads it a good thing that President Trump clawed back the billions of dollars that California was going to waste building a line between Frisco and LA.
