You can set it up any way you like on an android device. All the other icons can be hidden.

On my S4 Active a few years old, the usual ‘pruning’ does not seem to work?

If it is from samsung, disable is grayed out.
Drag and drop in trash bin, negative function!

I just discovered ‘app hiding apps’???
Like swallowing the spider to catch the fly?
But I will give it a look.

I kind of miss my oatmeal box with the string.

This procedure did not work???
Disabling Pre-Installed Apps
Open the Settings app.
Tap Applications . If your Settings menu has headings above it, you’ll first have to tap the “Devices” heading.
Tap Application Manager .
Tap the “All” tab.
Tap the app you want to hide.
Tap Disable . Doing so should hide your app from your Home screen.
