Well, presuming many New Yorkers have either split, or are in the process of splitting, and that most of them have ended up living in Florida, it is fairly obvious that “Florida Man” readily translates into “He who has left New York behind, and now brings his way of life with him”.
It’s kind of a native american sounding translation kind of thing, you know.
