Towstrap, jumper cables, insulated coveralls gloves and cap, heated packs, highway flares, pistol, duct tape.

Blankets, extra coats, flares, flashlights, water, matches food ( granola bars and the like) and a weather radio, kept in the car year round in a rubbermaid bin. we lived 30 miles south of Fairbanks and if you get stranded when it’s -40 to -50 below zero it doesn’t take long to die.. and the ice fog makes it hard to see anyone who might be stranded.
