The Federal government has no constitutional authority to regulate drugs. That’s why a constitutional amendment had to be passed for prohibition to be enacted.

For some FReepers, constitutionalism is not a principle but a tactic: used when conducive to their ends, ignored when not.

True enough, but this place is about as good as it gets for these kinds of discussions. For the Mainstream Media and far too many Americans the Constitution is a “living document”: a magic mirror that shows whatever they want to see at any given time.

I am troubled at how much we let the Left frame all arguments. They’ll get us running around in circles debating the merits of “Dreamer” executive orders, Federal drug mandates, or what sort of judges might give us the results we want from the courts without ever stopping to consider the underlying constitutional principals that settle all of those issues.
