Buddhism is not strictly anti-abortion. I have a friend who is generally pro-life, but says that if she knew her baby had a defect, she would “throw it right back in the pool”, meaning that she would abort it so that it could resurrect (hopefully) in a more functional body.

You’re correct, exDemMom-

My research reflects Buddhism is actually indifferent because while it says it brings bad Karma upon the abortionist, it allows it for ‘compassion’ upon the child and other factors.

A loophole so large a tank convey can roll through it.

Yes but if you believe that every life has a purpose, is it not against God’s will to take that life? A human being is not God and cannot possibly see into the future.
