Russians do good war movies, I’ll give them that.
It’s hard to pick one. It depends on my mood. Ones I go back to are Kelly’s Heroes to laugh, A Bridge Too Far for a grand epic, Das Boot for a tense drama.

As far as Stalingrad goes, there is a 12 episode series called “Life and Fate” that alternates between Stalingrad and the home front. It is on Amazon prime. Very well done. (except I think I spotted an extra in german uniform carrying a Mosin at one point, haha)

he told us he liked being on set at U571 but didn’t “enjoy” Valkryie. Told us Tom Cruise was nice but almost crazy..
