I've had Gustav Holst 'Mars' in my head all day, singing it to myself at work (yeah, I'm weird).
Got home, looked it up on YouTube, listened to the Chicago Symphony.
Then I found this version. Very well done. I'm going to have to look at more of his stuff.

A few years ago I saw Yngwie Malmsteen at the Houston House of Blues. Half his set was classical guitar.

This is also an English hymn, And Did Those Feet in Ancient Times. It’s also on youtube. Some have theorized that Jesus and Joseph of Arimithea traveled to England for a few of the unknown years of Jesus life. Beautiful hymn.

I was big into Drum and Bugle Corps which gave me insight into a lot of music I might otherwise not have appreciated.
Loved “Jupiter”, we played it...”Mars” was pretty good, too...
I like the Tomita version too...it is completely quirky and fun to listen to!

Actually, the more I listen, his version is very..."Tomita" like in some ways, but I readily admit the one you posted is one of the most enjoyable I have ever heard. Certainly going to buy it if it is for sale! (If not, I admit I am going to take it off the video!)
Check out this version of "Mars" by Tomita. He was a bit of a pioneer in synthesizer music (came out back in the Seventies)

Spirit of Atlanta, we played a lot of Gershwin. At the same time at GA Southern, we played 'Jupiter', a special arrangement by one of our professors.
I love all of Tomita's work. Those funky-ass synthesizers.
