Did anybody see the most recent episode of the documentary series 1969, on ABC? I started watching it and this one is labelled The Girl in the Car.
The ad’s true. I had a ‘67 Volkswagen. We had heavy rain and underpasses were flooded. I drove that puppy into water that came up to the window ledge and felt the wheels break free of the ground several times.
In one underpass, a couple was sitting on their flooded Mustang and we drove by, leaving them rocking in the water from our wake.
I got through by revving the engine and popping the clutch. The car got us to where we wanted to go, but the clutch went out in a day ortwo.
I actually remember that ad. A particularly poignant moment was when a good friend of Mary Jos (they interviewed a couple of cousins and a friend or two) said that Mary Jo was so cute driving around in her little VW,
And her cousin who had been commenting throughout the show said that some of the Boiler Room Girls were still living, but even now, if asked about that night, their only response is see my lawyer.
Democrats have been skating on serious crimes for over 50 years. Will that ever change?
Thanks! Looks like it was this past weekend, but glad to know they honored the anniversary
Yup
Yowza! I did type Cokie, but even after the editing, in its wisdom the computer changed it. Too creepy!
Is Iggy Pop in this series?

It’s officially golden oldies now
Did they repeat any of the “dead Mary Jo” jokes that journalists knew Ted Kennedy told later in life?
The presstitutes kept that secret until Red Kennedy died then it was safe to release to the public.
Me too ! July 9
‘This would turn out to be another tragedy for the Kennedys.’
If an axle came loose, and the car went off the road killing Ted Kennedy, that would be ‘tragedy for the Kennedys’ [not many others, but yes, the Kennedy’s].
Murder is NOT a tragedy for the killer.
the 2017 movie “Chappaquidick” ripped the Kennedys right over the coals.
Worth watching.

I can hear the intro in my head
I do not watch the leftist television station abc.

Dennis befriended Manson and the rest of the group were NOT happy or impressed .He literally scared the Sht out of them.
Manson also ran with Neil Young. David Crosby was unhappy when Neil wrote a song about misguided Manson.
Yes. We saw that movie and were surprised that it was so accurate. And Jason Clarke is a real chameleon.....can play literally ANYBODY and make the movie believable. I wish all could see that movie. I dont know if you noticed my comment upthread about Mary Jos cousin saying the Boiler Room Girls that are still alive still alive will only say see my lawyer when asked about that night. Still protecting Ted, how useless and soulless.
I did not see the Manson episode. But IIRC Dennis rewrote a song that Manson had given him to produce, and then didnt give Manson much credit. Manson was furious and turned on Dennis Wilson. Scary for all The Beach Boys. And Dennis only became infatuated with Manson because Manson could furnish Dennis with women all the time.
got that backwards, Wilson published the song after Manson had trashed Wilson’s house. It was considered payment.

Thanks for the correction.
Narcissist Ted thought it was a tragedy...for his own self.
Yes to all.
