Happy rainy Sunday all...

Never heard of Texaco Town but love that it's from ‘37...also don't know anything about Remember Us...ending well with a CBS Radio Mystery Theatre and an unusual Soldiers of the Press...

How's it going?

Hi, Vision! I’ve never heard of Texaco Town, either, but I grew up with Texaco gas stations everywhere. :-)

How’s it going?

Hi Gina, life is good. It's been raining all day, the new grass seed has germinated but hope it doesn't rot from all the water. I put a hanging fern out on the porch and it looks great. A self watering planter is coming tomorrow which with luck will work perfectly. You?

It’s good here, too. We had storms yesterday that dumped a bunch of nice rain for the grass and flowers, and today has been warm and nice. Just doing the usual Sunday stuff, no news, which is good news! :-)

I'm not happy with the DQ of the derby; not sure if you watch it.

Starring Deanna Durbin and more: Texaco Town is a variety show filled with the vaudeville zaniness.

The Secret of the Aztecs

A man’s car breaks down in the desert and he encounters the ghost of an old man named Quetzal who shows him to the long lost Aztec Gold and instructs him to guard the Aztec’s treasure from a being known as ‘The Savage.’ He can’t convince anyone that he saw the ghost of the old man and everybody thinks he’s insane.

We watched it, and the guy did leave his lane. I know lots of people are mad about it. It’s so very dangerous to leave your lane. You MUST manage your horse.

I also mentioned what you said to Keith, and he agrees with you. Tradition, terribly sloppy track, wild animal, etc. You guys are right. The clear winner was Maximum Security, and the fouled horse behind M.S. wasn’t declared the winner; instead it was a long-shot that wasn’t even in the running.

“Section 12. Fouls. A leading horse when clear is entitled to any part of the track. Except in a straight-away racing, every horse must maintain position as nearly as possible in the lane in which it starts. If a leading horse, or any other horse in a race, swerves or is ridden to either side so as to interfere with or intimidate or impede any other horse or jockey, or to cause same, it is a foul; if a jockey strikes another horse or jockey, it is a foul. If in the opinion of the stewards, a foul alters the finish of a race, any offending horses may be disqualified by the stewards.”

MS fouled in the corner however the last stretch is long and no other horse was able to make it a close race. The foul did not alter the finish. MS clearly was the strongest horse and the DQ was a ridiculous pin head decision based on a technicality. And the first in derby history. Ha! Hope the stewards lose their jobs and apologize to the world for their audacious idiocy.

WHOA! There are the rules! You’re so right, Vision. This was a disgrace, just like the pass interference no-call in the Saints playoff game.

Yeah, I think that was a bonehead decision.

Incidental contact.
