To all horse bettors: Get A Life!
I’ve only ever been to one horse race in my life, a friend of mine who was a big handicapper took me.
He had tons of statistics and facts about all the horses, where they were bred, where the did all their races and practices, how many races they won, and what types of tracks.
I didn’t even know there was a difference between grass, dirt, and mud tracks.
Did ranch work for my uncle when I was a kid, the only thing our horses seemed to care about the terrain was if it was uphill, downhill, or flat.
Wet, dry, grass, or dirt, didn’t seem to bother them.
My friend told me what horses to bet on and the order to bet after we saw them in the loading area.
I ignored him and bet the horse that looked to me like it wanted to run, and it ran.
DAMN DID IT RUN.
I walked away with 90 dollars on a 3 dollar bet and Michael Page (the friend who took me) walked away with nothing.
NEVER BEEN TO ANOTHER HORSE RACE.
