Just now catching up (again), here are a few Bill Mitchell comments for fun.
I'm still sitting here in a bit of shock. The Democrat lead House Judiciary just voted to cite AG Barr for contempt because he would NOT break the law.
One could argue that if he had fulfilled their illegal subpoena, he could face prosecution.
They have gone utterly mad.— Julio Gonzalez (@TaxReformExpert) May 8, 2019
BRENNAN REALLY WANTS BARR TO KICK HIS ASS, DOESN'T HE?
John Brennan labeled the remaining Trump followers as racists, white supremacists, misogynists and political sycophants.— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) May 8, 2019
The ultimate irony here is that it is DEMOCRATS WHO ARE OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE DAILY, not President Trump.— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) May 8, 2019
So is @SpeakerPelosi now claiming that President Trump's claims of executive privilege are impeachable?
Perhaps she would just like to throw out the whole Constitution and start over?— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) May 8, 2019
DOJ HAS COME OUT AND SAID IT - NADLER IS BLACKMAILING AG INTO BREAKING THE LAW - CLEAR ABUSE OF POWER - DOJ on Contempt Vote: No One ... Will Force the Department of Justice to Break the Law | Breitbart https://t.co/Jy3rQDeuId via @BreitbartNews— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) May 8, 2019
"No one, including Chairman Nadler and his Committee, will force the Department of Justice to break the law!" https://t.co/1fgrJvKRiV— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) May 8, 2019
For any Congressional Contempt citation to actually become a criminal matter, it must first pass through the DOJ.
Short story, @SpeakerPelosi's basement jail will remain unoccupied - by Republicans.— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) May 8, 2019
In US History, has there ever been a time where the House Judiciary Committee attempted to coerce the Attorney General to commit an actual crime?— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) May 8, 2019
Is there NO ONE in the Democrat Leadership with a conscience who will stand up and say, "Now wait a minute guys, we cannot hold the AG in contempt for refusing to commit a crime!"?
How afraid of Barr must Democrats be to go this far?— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) May 8, 2019
Why is it difficult for Congressional "contempt" charges to have any effect?
Because the DOJ is a part of the Executive Branch and for the contempt charge to become "criminal" it must pass through the DOJ which, in the case, Nadler is attacking.— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) May 8, 2019
"...Once the contempt citation is received, any prosecution lies within the control of the executive branch."
In other words. It dies there.— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) May 8, 2019
Misprision of Authority.
Arrest and detain every one of them that voted for this
illegal, unconstitutional monstrosity.
Try, and Convict.
Rinse and repeat as needed.
That is the money quote right there. I am so glad things are set up so we can fight back now.
