Not really a car, but I’ve been in some “The Who vs. Led Zeppelin” fights that came closing to a shooting, mostly because Led Zeppelin fans don’t know what they’re freaking talking about.
You shut yer whore mouth boy!! /jk
I was thinking the other day, in the 60s and 70s say, 1965-1975 the biggest pop or rock bands were pretty much Brits.
Beatles, Stones, and Led Zep.
There were definitely lots of American bands who were huge - but in terms of album sales and $$$ made on tour, I suspect it’s not even close. I don’t know overall why that is exactly, but it really was a “British Invasion”. Interestingly all three bands really took off in Britain after their return from US touring. The amount of money they made here was off the charts. Peter Grant, Zeppelin’s manager secured 90% of the gate. I think they were making a $1000 a minute playing their tunes. Nice work if you can get it.
