In a nutshell - no one is watching tv anymore and instead watching people on YouTube or Instagram so, instead of ads, companies are paying people with lots of followers to hock their wares as influencers.
My guess here is that Harvard wanted some advertising for their online school so the OR firm hooked up with an appropriate influencer.
If this sounds like payola - it is.
