Never forget that Republicans sat around on their fat azz while Google became a 90% monopoly. Big Business are real losers.
Our leaders suck. What an awful social era to grow up in with useless leaders.
There was one case not too long ago where I was doing a political search and got 57 returns on Google. So I went to the other sites and got the hundreds of thousands that I expected. What that told me was that Google was doing more than just excluding what they don’t like, but also, at least in that case, was SELECTING the results that they would permit me to see. I wish that I could remember the topic.
Pretty bad...and so I’ll typically use multiple engines for political searches now, including, of course , DDG.
I use ixquick/startpage. Same reason and the name is easier to say.
Not only does DuckDuckGo protect your privacy by not tracking your data, they also don’t manipulate and censor search results to suit their political bias like Google does.
Here’s some discussions about who owns StartPage and DDG and their relationship to Google:

Realistically, google is no longer a search engine. At best it produces only tangentially related results. It ignores search terms, only routes you to advertiser based results, ignores quote marks, etc. It is routine that you search for a precise thing you KNOW exists 5, 6, or more times, changing what you enter and still wind up no closer. Google 2011-2012 or so was pretty good. Now it is mostly useless.
Yep - been using it exclusively for about a year now.
Google site rankings used to be organic and based on meta keywords, site text and topic/URL relevancy.
In other words, if your website had what people wanted, they found you fast.
Now, most of the “top hits” are bought ad campaigns.
Whereas our business used to be all over the first 4 or 5 pages of results, we’ve pretty much disappeared because we cannot afford to buy AdWords or pay for ad campaigns.
If you’re trying to make a living, like we are, the “new normal” is a financial gut shot.
I only use Google to shop for bikinis and lingerie. Makes for a pleasant background as I surf the web.
For everything else, I use Duckduckgo.

Use it all the time.
Been using Duck Duck Go for several years. It’s terrific and private. Who wants Google to know your business?
I find DuckDuckGo frustrating as in searching for FR articles you have to ADD *free republic* in the search line to get ANY results showing FR at all. And even then, it’s barely minimal.
It does not seem very Christian friendly either.
Google has better offering for searches, but I still tend use DuckDuckGo as I hate being monitored.
Thank you! You really notice how bad Google had gotten when youve used DuckDuckGo for a while.

I’ve been using DuckDuckGo for about a year. At first, it was different than Google and took some adjustment, but the results are actually better than Google if you word your query like a 100 IQ adult, instead of an 80 IQ millennial.
When I switched to Duckduckgo I eventually stopped getting as many popup ads...did anyone else notice this?????
