Agree with everything you say!

The add in the fact we increase that population with our growing and now seeming acceptance of amateur recreational pharmacology - i.e., recreational drug use. This allows those that are near to being “off-the-bubble” as it were to go off and those already off to get worse!

I think this is a far larger problem then people realize!

De-institutionalizing has been a disaster. It’s bad for the mentally ill, it’s bad for normal people, and it has made our cities more dangerous.

The experiment was gone on for 50 years, and it’s why we now have a huge homeless problem that never existed in the past, despite the fact that we have always had poor people.

When we cleaned up the huge homeless camp in Orange County CA along the Santa River Trail we found that 1/3 were drug and alcohol abusers, 1/3 were crazy, a 1/3 were criminals. And the first two categories in particular blend together.
