Another issue is that so many of them are conditioned, in a seriously Pavlovian manner, to only see the world through the msm filter.
And there’s the desperate need to comply with their sense of the herd instinct and not be seen as an outlier.
And some, of course, are devotees of the troskyites who called themselves neo-conservative in the same way that communists call themselves progressives.
The big change for me came when I realized everything on the news was a show. The narratives are already written, and they just wait for an event to attach to the narrative. The importance of the event means nothing. The ability to attach an event to a narrative means everything.
I cancelled cable, don't listen to the radio (have a subscription to Rush, though) and stay away from twitter and facebook, except for a few instances. Just not being exposed to the rhythm of the fast cuts and commercials has a calming effect. Stay away from cable TV for a month and then watch it, and it's incoherent.
