I will see Spiderman: Homecoming and Guardians of the Galaxy 3, but after that?

Season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D had a gay Inhuman named Joey who was briefly on Daisy/Quake’s Inhuman team but they really didn’t stress him being gay... More on his powers (he could met metal) and horrors of getting them rather than being homosexual. Never even showed him holdings hands with a guy, let alone kissing. After a few episodes, he dropped off the small screen.

IF they have a gay Avenger but focus on his/her powers rather than gayness it may or may not be acceptable.

After all, I still laugh at old Gomer Pyle episodes, even though I know Jim Nabors is gay.

Completely different situation. Gomer Pyle, the character, was never gay.

Today, the "gayness" is the whole point. And you must know about the "gayness". It is more important than anything else the character says or does. "Gayness" is superior to straightness.

ABC/Disney appears to have had a mandate to make non-heterosexual characters required in virtually every series. Even “Fresh Off The Boat” got their main female high schooler next door to change to lesbian, and got the main character, who had been infatuated with her since the beginning, to be okay with that and help her get attention from a barista at a coffee house in a subsequent episode.

In series after series across all networks, for every five to six seemingly straight characters, at least one crooked gender person wound up existing.

That is a much higher percentage of the population being represented than exists in real life.

Yeah, but the Gomer Pyle wasn't gay, that's the difference.
