I met Paul Newman and JoAnne Woodward once. I was with my ex-gielfriend and her kids at a famous hamburger/ice cream place in Connecticut. We were eating ice cream, when a Porsche drove in. Paul and JoAnne got out (dressed in a tux and a fancy dress) and went in to get an ice cream. They stopped and chatted with people. I told Paul that we were underdressed. (I was in shorts, ex girlfriend was in Daisy Dukes, her kids were in swimsuits.)

Paul might been a liberal, but he was nice.

Everyone I’ve talked to who has met him (most of them are folks I know through SCCA) has said he was a nice fellow. I’ve heard similar reports from them about Craig T. Nelson as well.
