Buckeye,

I heard the exact same thing a couple of days ago, from a friend of a friend.

2 dysfuntional and broken daughters, 4 grandchildren between them. No sperm donor(s) or baby daddy(s) in sight. Both under 30.

Daughter #1 (1 child): Perpetually unemployed and living the wild life with her "cool friends," moved back home, at the insistence of dad, so mom and dad could take care of their grandson and keep him out of her druggie loser friends environment. Still living at home, still not working, still barely functional as a mother.

Daughter #2 (3 children): Oldest, diagnosed with Graves Disease, which makes her effectively unemployable and in need of caregiving. Now being cared for by her mother. Diagnosis and treatment uncertain, which makes her future prospects of anything uncertain. Third child is with a second loser boyfriend sperm donor.

My heart aches for those poor grandkids. Children don't get to pick their parents.

What makes a person unemployable with Graves disease? It is simply addressed with Thyroid supplementation. My sister and other relatives have it, I think a President or First lady had it too in the last 20 years.

Kick the adult children out, and take the grandchildren into your arms. If you are going to go broke, at least do it with the thought of saving the little ones from their screwy parents.
