I cannot say. I tried to read 'Fire and Ice' but the author's wording got in the way of good read, unlike JRR Tolkien's writing style he tried to imitate. IMHO
A bad book but made a good series, how odd.

I read The Lord of the Rings 24+ times.
I did not make it to the end of the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire.
