I know they aren't rock, but Spyrogyra is one of my favorite all time music groups...one of the best concerts I ever attended, though my wife says it was the worst...lol.

Saw them in El Paso back in the mid-80s. The venue was changed, I had bought tickets in the first row of the balcony. Imagine my delight when we were put in the front row. I so enjoyed it, they put on a fantastic show.

Also saw Poco and Little River Band in the same venue. Poco opened for LRB. Talk about getting your money's worth! Poco is seriously underrated in the pantheon of rock.

Now that I think about it, Buffalo Springfield and Jefferson Airplane/Starship were intellectual bands as well.

As one who enjoyed a lot of jazz at that time, Spyrogyra was not my cup of tea. But The Pat Metheny Group was just amazing, the "White Album" is still one of my all-time favorite records.

Agree on all but Spyro

Spyro is like Gino Vanelli meets Dixie Dregs meets Aldo Novo to me

No offense

The rest is very very spot on

White Rabbit

For What It’s Worth

Who doesn’t know those lyrics

And Poco...
Was always Rocky Mountian music for me

I’d head out from the Deep South in my little truck for friends in Gunnison or Jackson or Bozeman in 1976 or 77

When I could see purple bumps in the disatance usually after Clayton New Mexico

I’d pop in Poco and turn it up loud...and fire one up

Hit Raton and up to Walsenburg and west to Salida and Gunnison

Man I loved my youth

And I still make those trips with my kids

And same music

No weed though. Alas

Now I will confess I was a huge Little River Band fan in high school. And to me, only the Glenn Shorrock version of the Little River Band counts.

“It’s a Long Way There” has some killer guitar work on it.
