Yes I see your point, will the powers that be, push back against the feral gang types from infesting the nice areas?
I lived in Chicago years ago. I lived in Edgewater then in Rogers Park. My girlfriend who became my wife, lived near Water Tower Place. I took the L and exited at Chicago and State to go visit her. It’s unbelievable to me that such an area is seeing this mayhem.

Thats doubtful in my view. The formerly safe areas are now outnumbered by the voters in the problem areas. The new Mayor is a True Believer, 5 outright Socialists have seats on the City Council, and the States Attorney Foxx is absolutely complicit.
The dirty little secret is that the gangs are part and parcel of the political system now. The AG Of Illinois just handcuffed the CPD with a ridiculous Consent Decree because racism. Beat cops are being given stand down orders in plain language on unencrypted radio channels.
Local community activists are openly protecting these youths from the cops now. They put themselves between the cops and the marauders and dare them to try and make arrests.

Last weekend, in broad daylight, two teens attacked a security guard at the McDonalds on that very corner. He had to draw his gun to stop the attack. And it was all caught on glorious video. The guard showed incredible restraint by not dropping both of them. Im not sure I could have.
I work not far from there in River North. Believe me I do not go unarmed anywhere these days.

It was entirely predictable. And its being done quite on purpose. Chicago is done. Its only a matter of time before the City and the County will be forced into a Chapter 9 bankruptcy. Thats when the real fun will start.
