Perhaps 25 year ago, Holiday Inn settled a lawsuit in which service employees were able to view hotel room interiors. They used the long service passageways that led to mirrors to view into every room. Mirrors were readily prepared with tiny peep-holes. You could see them from the room side if someone had pointed them out.
A more recent Marriott case settled for $55 million involving adjacent rooms with the standard peep-hole in the door.
