Great story! Wouldn’t you love to have all of the novelties, collectibles, souvenirs, pictures, postcards, cars, bikes, etc., that pass through one’s hands in a lifetime?
I sure would! Didn’t realize the value of some things I had.
I bought some old postcards in Oregon one time. They were written from a husband to his wife, telling her how much he missed her as he was in San Francisco on business. I bought those cards, and tried to find a family member that would appreciate the cards.
I did t go through public records for the last century or anything, but I did try. The cards were from the early 1920s.
I wish I still had that 1967 mustang my dad bought me, and that solid mahogany, hand carved, wooden nails, bedroom suit from free China I inherited from my grandmother. I sold it to buy a pickup and horse trailer.
