This whole ‘admissions scam’ is a bit puzzling; wealthy children’s parents have been buying their way into the Ivy League with a variety of ‘endowments’ for donkey’s years.

Sooooo... Mommy pays the school to take kiddo as a student, kiddo “works” on the yacht of the college bigwigs, so in essence mommy paid the school officials to check her kid for air leaks.
Aughta be a bumper sticker for her: “I paid a college to rail out my kid!”
Considering the type and amount of deception she participated in, she had to know she was committing fraud. All the fake crap about crew. When you were 17 would you have thought all that was above board?
Anyway, this is a prosecutorial gambit to pressure Mommie Dearest into a plea bargain. The kid was raised to believe that rules did not apply to her and she would always get a pass for her transgressions.
Again, the key thing to remember with these people: The guilt is not in the doing, the guilt is in getting caught.

In everything I've read, the schools as an entity were not implicated. Coaches and those in a position to make recruiting decisions only.
I know the jokes are supposedly funny, but I don’t find this situation funny at all. Everybody with any sense knows if one has enough money, one buys their kid’s way into the school of their choice. The daughter supposedly was fairly wild and didn’t even want to go to school. Kudos to Mom for getting her silly butt in there however she could. With all the crime perpetrated these days, we’re prosecuting parents for this? I’m sorry, but it is outrageous to me. I actually feel sorry for Lori Loughlin. Killary walks free and untroubled while they plot to lock Lori Loughlin up.
