Colonel Crittenden liked the crossbow.
Adjective inflation and lies continue among the media illiterati:
Saturday night specials.
Junk guns.
Cop killer bullets.
High capacity magazines.
Weapons of war.
Assault rifles.
Sniper Rifles.
Reasonable gun control.
Sensible gun control.
Gun safety.
Gun show loophole.
For the children.
Ten children a day.
Nobody wants to take your guns.
Now, soon, we’ll be hearing about “reasonable” crossbow control. And knives. Gotta get those military-style knives off the streets. For the children. Knife safety.
Nobody NEEDS a “high-powered crossbow”, let’s “get them off the streets”
George Orwell was a prophet.
High powered crossbow? Are we sure it wasn’t an “assault crossbow”. I’m surprised a democrat hasn’t proposed a ban or at least limiting “hi-capacity” arrow magazines to less than 10.
A more appropriate headline would be “Canadian police release video of hitman’s attempt to murder woman”
Cherchez le significant otber.
At least we have Canada’s strict gun control laws to thank for the fact that the assassin was in no danger.
"...guess da mushrooms didn't work"
And they have video and they don't have the perp? They are making Chicago police look effective.
So a high power crossbow designed to bring down an Elk or Moose could not take down this woman? She must be a big gal...
“High powered” crossbow preferred weapon of gang bangers...
See how extraeditorial labeling is used to vilify the weapon.
Sure is timely of the police to ask the public if they remember anything about something that happened nearly six months ago. /s
As everyone knows, most crossbows are low-powered with built-in safeguards preventing the user from pulling back the bowstring more than halfway. As the arrow is released, it follows a slow and graceful 5 foot arc before it lands on its rubber safety tip.
Killer Cupid.
A blowgun is next ?
Thank goodness for Canada’s gun control laws.
True.
Some of the most “successful” murderers, in terms of getting away with it, don’t go anywhere near a gun.
It’s hard to kill someone with a gun and make it look like an accidental death, or a suicide. (Depending on other factors, like jurisdiction. I had a cousin murdered some years ago; he was not in his home county and had involvement in drugs. It was easier for local law enforcement to chalk it up to another dead druggie and call it suicide.)
I’ll admit to being a true crime junkie.
One of the most lethal-looking weapons I’ve ever seen was a prison shank. It was probabl 10-13 inches long. It was “manufactured” from a piece of metal window grille. The inmate had removed a piece and replaced it with paper, carefully woven and colored to look like the metal; you’d have to touch the replacement to realize it wasn’t metal. The removed piece had been shaped and sharpend into a very scary-looking large knife.
I was told by the guard that all you need to make a deadly weapon is a piece of metal and some concrete to sharpen it on. Guess what most prisons are built of?
One of my “favorite” crime programs involved a man who persuaded a friend to act as hit man.
The husband let the friend into the house while his wife was at work. When she came home the “killer” was inside waiting for her. I don’t recall how he was going to kill her.
She fought back, hard. They fought to the ground and he ended up underneath her with her arm around his neck. She didn’t let go. At one point she even told him that if he stopped fighting her she’d call 911 for him. He didn’t stop fighting. Until, eventually, he did. She held on until he was dead.
A former cop in Tulsa killed his X-wife with a crossbow many years ago. The olden methods still work.
But, but the pope banned crossbows as being un-Christian centuries ago! How’d that work out for Richard the Lionheart.
...a fist, a stick, a rock, wire...let me count the ways . Gun-banners are naive, confused nitwits .
A Woman in Orange County, CA was killed by a Crossbow arrow years ago. The Case was never solved.
They found her body in the Foyer of her House. Sounds like the same scenario.
