It is known.
Bran and Sam initially thought he was Jon Sand (because Jon was born in Dorne), but Sam and Gilly discovered the High Maester’s diary which described Prince Rhaegar’s annulment to his first wife (Elia Martell of Dorne), so that Rhaegar could marry his love, Lyanna Stark. Then Bran was able to “see” Rhaegar and Lyanna’s secret wedding ceremony. Plus Lyanna told Ned Jon’s real name was Aegon Targaryen.
...wakes up in his bedroom in Chicago, rolls over and looks at his wife and says, “Emily you would not believe the dream I just had...”
Who knew Game of Thrones actually took place in Appalachia!
“And no more Hodor either. :(”
I bet we see Hodor as a white walker in the final battle.
I LoL’d at the book-set pics.
Maybe this year??
I bet we see Hodor as a white walker in the final battle.

Great prediction. I wouldn’t bet against it, considering where he died. They will have missed a great dramatic moment if they don’t take the opportunity bring out Hodor as a walker
GRRM said that the ending will be bittersweet.
Politically, he personally is reported to be an anti-war Vietnam-era guy, and a feminist, so some expect him to leave a woman in charge, and to try to de-glamorize war, rather than have a glorious victory happy ending.
But having a lot of casualties and destruction in a big war is really more of an absence of glamorization, rather than an active de-glamorization. Despite his personal opinions, he is super story teller. People have looked to analyze his psychology, to try to anticipate where his stories might go.

I saw a show where they went around and interviewed members of the cast one by one, and asked them which other member of the cast they would most like to have sex with.
There was a pretty clear consensus. The girls most favored the guy who plays Jorah Mormont, and the guys most favored the woman who plays the Red Witch.
I was thinking that just this morning when I brought up Jon Snow and how a lot seemed to be coming together for him but that I had a bad feeling about it; and that is that I feel like GRRM wants a female to prevail. It’s not based on anything I know about him, or his books, just a feeling I get, or a kind of gestalt undercurrent from the whole body of work to date.
The obvious female would be Daenerys, but for that very reason, might not be “bittersweet”.
On the other hand, more than just bittersweet, for a lot of people, Cercei getting the iron throne after all would be more like a bitter pill.
You have a couple of outside shots at it, but two up and coming females are the siblings Arya and Sansa. That would be bittersweet because it would entail Jon falling out of it.
There are other long shots even more difficult to predict; What claim could Gilly ever have? Or Missandei? Same with Brienne who I think is of nobility but not lineage to a house.
Also, did the red witch die?
Yes
Hes pretty alpha old school looking man

Its all highly subjective to be sure
A summary of the show.
Watch out if you didn’t see the show. This one tells all about what transpired.
Brienne is the sole surviving child and heir to Lord Selwyn Tarth. Lord Selwyn is the Lord of Evenfall Hall, which is the seat of House Tarth. The island of Tarth is located in the Stormlands. So, Brienne is of noble birth, but House Tarth is one of the minor houses of Westeros. Her claim would not be very good.
Gilly would have no claim. She is one of Craster’s daughters and a wildling.
Missandei is a foreigner and a former slave. She would have no claim.
Arya has the skills of the Faceless Men. She could pretend to be anyone (once they are dead and she takes their face). I could see her killing someone (Jaime Lannister?) so that she can get closer to Cercei.
Melisandre (the Red Woman / Red priestess) is still alive. She was exiled from the North by Jon Snow. She was last seen at Dragonstone. She was heading for Volantis, but said that she must return to Westeros once more to meet her end.
That will probably change next week since Jamie is now in Winterfell and I am sure he and Brienne will be speaking to one another.
I will watch it again.
Live Chronicles is a condensed version of the Elric saga. THE Michael Moorcock does some spoken interludes. A true rock opera. Played loud and heavy. Definitely not surf music!
Sounds great, especially since I *hate* surf music.
:)
