More like as a country, we have overreacted to the minority voice (not defined as race) to appease them. Things like trying not to offend anyone or everyone must be included policies have given rise to politically correct nonsense which has contributed to the current state of affairs. The derision caused by the race-baiters, the -ism baiters has made plenty of people to see accusations as the implication of guilty until proven innocent. All of this so the establishment, not just in DC, may remain in power in all forms of society. The solution to change this mind sink is going to take generations to rectify unless there is an event so dire that people's mindsets are changed in a very dramatic fashion. We haven't forgotten, we have cozied up to apathy and we have let it take over. This was the downfall of Rome and will be the downfall of the USA.
