YouTube star Olivia Jade Giannulli is "devastated" by the allegations her parents are facing in the college admissions scandal. "Olivia is devastated and completely embarrassed. She feels like she's lost nearly all of her friends because of this. She's barely speaking to her parents," a friend who has been in communication with her told CNN. Giannulli's parents, actress Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, are among 33 parents accused of paying bribes for their children to attend prestigious institutions.

Your post is correct. Olivia Jade was making oodles of money in her social media. Kind of an entrepreneur. Her parents were right to force her to go to USC. This is good for her in the long run aside from her Instagram “influencer” gig. And even, on a certain level, to bribe people to get her into USC.
But much of her parents reason was this. They are competitive parents in the LA movie-TV-entertainment scene and wanted the status of being to able to say to their peers that their two daughters were at USC.
STATUS was their prime motivator.
