Someone named B. A. Payseur is a co-author of most if not all the papers.

I'm guessing his/her family funds the lab for his/her benefit.

Most of the research seems to be towards attempting to create new species through genetic engineering.

This fits perfectly into my paranoid belief that a long-term goal of the "Elites" is to created separate genetic castes of humans a la "Brave New World."
