I have a lower end but quality espresso machine, two burr grinders, and a milk frothing appliance. Total outlay ~$1k.

I make two lattes most days, one for me, one for the wife. Call it $8 if bought at Starbucks. So 125 days to pay for the hardware, maybe 200 with buying milk and coffee. So ~10 years later, hardware is long paid for, fully amortized, and my costs have been buying the milk and coffee, which is a heckuva lot less than $8/day. Maybe $1.50 a day max, and that’s buying organic milk, which froths up better. Plus I don’t have to go to Starbucks or similar.

Spending $20k at Starbucks is just moronic, plain and simple.

“”Spending $20k at Starbucks is just moronic, plain and simple.

Earn $2 million a year, and it is chump change.

Earn $200k and spending it is just a choice, a hobby.

Earn $25,000 and you are in trouble.
