Tesla was never going to be a success because the hard part of building a marketable electric car is the car part, not the electric. And the other manufacturers — who already have build quality nailed — were always going to “Preston Tucker” him as soon as he threatened their market share.

Interesting that the guy who is going to save the world from evil carbon cavorts around in a Gulfstream G650ER.
Nothing wrong with EVs as a solution to peculiar geographic problems where ICEs choke inversion areas with pollution, such as Chinese cities and Southern Cal. But there’s nothing net ‘greener’ about them.
