I assume they did field test it. Since there is not a bomb nor a cyclone involved, it has to be marketers at work. And a complicit whorehouse media spreading the joy.

They used the term Polar Vortex until it backfired on them .... how can you claim a polar vortex of freezing cold when the polar bears are dying of heat exhaustion, Eskimos are drinking mixed drinks without ice cubes, penguins have become extinct on the North Pole because all the ice has melted, etc.?
