I still have my Criterion Collection DVDs, and probably an old LaserDisc or two (need to check the boxes). Sold most of my other DVDs and CDs, but couldn’t bring myself to sell these. Glad to know they’re still around and streaming their work now.
They still sell physical media. So both complement each other. This kind of fare will never be mainstream but cinephiles just love movies that are unique and which dont really fit conventional box office blockbuster norms.
Like Frances version of GWTW - Les Enfants du Paradis which is still running in French theaters after its premiere in 1945.
