Internet weather radar

Posted on 04/07/2019 10:58:38 AM PDT by Dacula

I used to be a fan of Intellicast and their weather radar, however they have been bought out by Weather Undground and have completely ruined two good sites.

Does anyone a suggestion for a good weather radar to use on a PC? I use My Radar app for my phone, but they are not PC based.

Thank you in advance.

Wundermap tis but a pale shadow of it’s former self, after the Weather Channel scooped it up. They bludgeoned the former features in the name of improvement, such as to now be almost useless.

This may serve. Just choose a location in the top header, select the features to be displayed on the page, and press the curved arrow in the lower left corner to obtain a specific page address pre-configured to capture all your choices. Scroll down in the pop-up box, capture the address, and save.

It was only a few years ago that all the major weather reporting agencies tried to get exclusive access to the weather data from the federal government. I believe their effort failed and the consolidation and destruction of the various players may be their end run around that setback.

The fact is that the information is freely available (after all, we paid for it) and anyone willing to put together a collection of sources can have the most up to date, accurate weather information for free.
