I'm no expert on "introduced" fish, and wouldn't recognize tilapia if I were served it.

Honest question: what do you dislike about tilapia?

I don’t care for the bland cardboard to muddy taste of the farm raised fish. Also, the farm raised variety have less healthy omega3 to omega6 ratios. It may be a tasty fish if caught in the wild but I’ve never had wild caught. I also don’t care much for carp, catfish, shad, nor other bottom feeders. Additionally, its becoming too ubiquitous and crowding out a lot of other good options. I remember when we used to celebrate greater fish diversity...

Supposedly the fish are all a single sex due to hormonal treatment - this keeps the fish all a single generation in a batch - I can’t find the info right now though.
