it took a lotta land outta food product which ciuld contibute to higher prices & less supply??

Had you asked me then I probably would have guessed that that was at least part of it but prices here, now, in Trump time arent stupid high. Much, except for seafood that I suspect was Nork origin, and remembering to exclude Chinese pork (Smithfield) for obvious reasons, is as low as pre-Obama.

Id have to say I just dont know how that was brought about.

If that's a question, the answer is no. The corn is cattle feed corn, and they still feed the expended mash to the livestock as a more nutritious feed than the unfermented corn.
