that story has been debunked almost as much as it been reported.
I could never find a half way legit site reporting it or debunking it.
I have not found the actual radio interview nor could I find the french radio station report of it.
I’ve done a search of les echos and can not find any story on caulkin.

I’d label this iffy at best.

California on Friday led a group of 20 states in requesting that a federal judge stop President Trump from diverting federal funds to build his wall on the southern border.

Just for that, he should divert funds from the "sanctuary cities" and use that money for the California portion of the wall.
