The McDonald's of their day? Wouldn't fly today, though. Wonder what kind of salty fish they were serving? I never put salt on my fish. Always seems to ruin it, no matter how little I add.

Dried salt cod (and other types of fish) have been on the menu for thousands of years and are still widely consumed today, particularly in Southern Italy, Portugal, Spain, Scandinavia, Scotland, Iceland, Canada, and ethnic neighborhoods in the USA.
