Aaaaaaah. the Caribbean!

It’s a lovely wonderful place with terrific weather beautiful beaches

And the calmest warmest loveliest ocean you’ve ever seen and could ever exist on the planet earth

The islands that are in the Caribbean are unfortunately mostly low land coral a tall with scarcely trees water or anything to do anything with

So you’re really left with two professions there : cater to tourists or try to squeak out somewhere in agriculture or something off the land or sea

No lovely beautiful Puerto Rico has incredible mountains a rain forest and other incredible features to it

Unfortunately it does still have the Caribbean weather and this the disease that affects almost everyone there of why should I bother ? it’s so lovely here!

I suppose it’s one thing to be on a tiny rock with no altitude no trees so when are can close by it takes everything out

It’s a bit different when you have 4 to 5000 foot mountain like Jamaica Puerto Rico Haiti and the Dominican Republic

But again that same all disease creeps in - and why should I really do anything

Wife and I spent Christmas week in PR a few years ago (before the storm.)
Beaches are beautiful, mountains are picturesque and the people are friendly. There is a serious drug problem no one will admit to. We saw syringes along the roadside near our rental house. A guy drove up two or three houses down and nodded off for most of the day, even though local cops drove by a couple times. Only the young folks who've been in the military speak English.
