As I understand it, California CCW permits are issued by county sheriffs. But Cal is a ‘may issue’ state, so if the local sheriff doesn’t think you need one, or just doesn’t like the cut of your jib, you don’t get one. I left Cal nearly a half-century ago (my how time flies) and now live in a state where I don’t need anyone’s permission to conceal carry.

I question how we can continue as a single nation when, simultaneously, some states are outlawing abortion at the sign of a heartbeat (GA) and others are allowing abortion up to the time (and perhaps a wee bit later) of birth (VA). Kentucky just passed Constitutional carry and L.A. county wants to purge the few CCWs that have been issued.
