Oh that’s right, Humphrey was the first term. McGovern was an even bigger blowout.
TERM LIMITS. Get them out before they can establish their fiefdoms. ALL POLITICAL CONTRIBUTION MUST BE ANONYMOUS. You can't sell influence if you don't know who's buying.
Excellent spot on commentary!
True.
Nixon ran against Hubert Humphrey his 1st term; Watergate happened in the 2nd race against McGovern who had no chance of winning anyway. Nixon did not order the break-in, he had nothing to do with it. Supposedly he committed obstruction of justice when he originally declined to look into it further. As I vaguely remember, G. Gordon Liddy said this actually a sting operation against a prostitution ring operating out of the Watergate Hotel. John Dean’s wife, Maureen, had been a call girl and the democrat party had info about this. This had nothing to do with Richard Nixon. Also as I remember, regarding the 27 minutes of tape accidentally erased by Rosemary Woods, Nixon’s secretary, was the proof the media claimed that Nixon had ordered this. It seems to me, if there was an incriminating conversation on the tape, that Nixon and others would have recorded over it with some (expletive-deleted) innocuous conversation. But with relentless democrat and MSM savaging of Nixon and his family, people were turned against Nixon. The difference between what has happened to Trump and what happened to Nixon was the internet and cable, and the MSM does not have the power it used to have. Also, and this is just my perception, that the venom and hate directed toward Trump is not quite as bad as what Nixon endured. After all, Ivanka’s wedding dress was not taken away from her as was Patricia Nixon Cox’s wedding dress; no pictures of Pres. Trump have been taken from the Whitehouse bedside stand of Mrs. Trump as happened to Mrs. Nixon. And to my knowledge, Pres. Trump has not been mocked for being a praying man. The nasty pettiness of the Nixon persecution was unbelievable!
There are some profound thoughts here. Remember, the media is the larger problem.
American Thinker was going to publish it in the morning, but I had already published it here.
