I suppose that my witness, as you call it, is as good as anyone’s - maybe even yours. What I object to is when a program like this misinforms the population about who Jesus is - not just the Son of God but fully God and fully man. That’s all I meant about reverence.
As both C. S. Lewis and Jesus pointed out, any talk about Him is better than none. But I’d want to see how the program is introduced before coming down with even your degree of a judgment. Is Jesus questionproof? That is a quality which can be expected of a living, omniscient Savior.
Overall it’s a win to hear even the world mentioning Him in doubt. People who want to know more have an obvious answer: a Christian neighbor, friend, or church.
By the way, the bible has quite a specific witnessing scenario and it’s accompanied by Holy Spirit.
“What I object to is when a program like this misinforms the population about who Jesus is - not just the Son of God but fully God and fully man. Thats all I meant about reverence.”

I understand where you’re coming from, punknpuss. But the show delivers comfort to many people, particularly shut-ins. My Dad could no longer go to church or drive, as he neared the end of his life, but he watched Osteen “religiously” and would call me that evening to tell me Joel’s joke. :)
