Amazon has a back catalogue of HBO shows. No need to sign up with HBO Now.

“We save on shipping. Music and video is a plus.”

I agree. Regarding video, I highly recommend Bosch. I thought Jack Ryan was really good, and I just started watching Sneaky Pete...so far, so good.

Then there are the Whole Foods discounts, which I’ve yet to use.

I don’t mind paying more for internet. Not about saving money.

“Amazon has a back catalogue of HBO shows. “

How do you view them? I clicked on HBO and it asks to start a free trial?

I was wondering what has taken them so long.

I think iTunes/AppleTV must be losing audience share.

They’re also launching their own credit card, for Apple Pay.

I wondered what took so long, for that, as well.

If you’re a Prime member, do a search for HBO.

The HBO Now Channel is a standalone paid streaming service for current HBO shows.

Internet for me is $45 for 1,000 GB. Unlimited is $30 more. Over the air is completely free via good antenna.

Philo gives you 44 cable channels for $16/month.

https://try.philo.com/

OANN is $4.99/month.

There are plenty of other content providers besides those two.

You want Fox News? Look at these:

It can be far cheaper to stream than to buy retail CNN packages.

All except the Chinese. They make sure that the folks can’t use VPN. Come on, the Mueller inquest is over, get your heads out of the clouds. Apple isn’t the worst, and even if they were the best, that’s not saying much.

The smart phone market is saturated.

The Apple phones like the 6 seem to be very reliable. People are not finding a need to update very quickly. I've put new batteries (25 bucks) in a bunch of them for people and they just keep going.

Just another way for Apple to monitor what people are doing.

Apple stated repeatedly during their announcement that they WILL not know what you are watching and will not know or share any customer data with anyone. NO ADS. What makes you think that Apple has been doing this against all evidence they have already not been doing it, while Google and Android do it globally?

It will cost 3x as much for 1/10th of the content

And Apple Fanbois will brag on how Apple invented streaming services

One big difference with Apple is they announced consumers will be permitted to buy channels they like ala carte, not required to bundle channels to get the single ones they want.

If Apple wants to be different, they need some real ala-carte plans. Other than that, they will just be a Me-Too like always.

Apple stated that channels would be available ala carte. . . not part of bundles. Consumers can select what channels they want without being forced to buy a bundle of junk they don't want.
