Then the reporting on this story is crap. Which is quite likely these days.
Reporters seem to just quote from police blotters. The police are tight-lipped. In this case, some reporter seems to have heard the story, and decided to just talk to the guy and report from his point of view.
I kind of expect he’ll get off when it’s all done, but if the story is as it appears, I can’t blame the prosecutor for at least pursuing it; while it is laudible to step in and stop a sexual assault, if you then try to get the guy to confess (possibly by torturing him or threatening him), you have crossed some sort of line.
(Note that if it was a “white nationalist” being tortured, the left would be cheering the vigilante on. I heard a story yesterday that some profoundly drunk girl ran over and killed “neo-nazi”, and people were posting that at least she didn’t kill a human being. Which is of course how the Nazi’s conditioned people to get rid of the Jews, but I digress).
