"There's nothing that needs reforming so much as other people's habits" - Mark Twain

That quote comes to mind whenever I see any articles about "scientific research" on food. The fact is that there are literally uncountable claims made about our diets, most of which are unsubstantiated by any real research, but which most people will believe simply based on the assertion ("Global Warming is Real" / "The Science is Settled").

Diets are a sort of pseudo religion in the modern world.

Funny: You practically quoted right out of the chapter on ‘diets’ in my first book.

True story: My father stumbled accidentally upon this radical new ‘diet’ which had the same effect as everyone else. With nearly 100% efficacy, people lost weight. My father lost over 80 pounds.

Why don’t more people engage the ‘diet’?

People aren’t as keen to admitting themselves to a hospital as they are to follow a prescribed plan backed by oodles of fawning pseudoscience and marketing propaganda, ignoring all of the negative aspects of said ‘diet’ because in almost all cases the effects are stealthy and long-term...

Thus the Hospital ‘diet’ is the worst-kept secret in the world, the least likely to be sampled and the least popular.

My new book addresses these aspects in much more detail (top secret). It’s rather fascinating.
