Used to be able to wash American made jeans hundreds of times over the course of many years. Now they are made in asia and fall apart after 3 washes.
I used to walk 4 miles per day in levis (just going to work, lunch, work, dinner, out) and they held up for several years. Once they started making them overseas the would fall apart after only a few months. No, my thighs don’t rub together nor did they then. I quit buying levis and went to wrangler around the turn of the last century.
I have 2 pair of Levi 505 that recently had a belt loop pull off on one end. That should be the strongest stitching there. Each pair has a hole where the end of the loop was stitched to. I agree about the clothes not lasting as long as before. Some shirts I see at Kohls dept store are practically see thru as the fabric is so thin. I now but at Land’s End and LL Bean as they have sturdier shirts.

A lot of them are made in Pakistan
